📚We had a fantastic World Book Day last week, when all of our pupils got thoroughly involved in dressing up, reading challenges and even decorating wooden spoons! A good time was had by all and we appreciate the effort that families went to, to ensure that the children were able to participate - thank you! 📚 At school, a love of reading was celebrated throughout the day with fun activities, challenges and a special assembly, led by Miss Smith, when prizes of books and treats were awarded to our competition winners. Congratulations to our wooden spoon winners Faye (for her giraffe) and Becki (for her Alien) and also to our fabulous runners up Alfie (for the BFG), Ava (for her butterfly) and Henry (for Rupert the Bear). It was so hard to choose the winners because all of the entries were fabulous. In fact, they were all so fabulous that we have displayed them throughout the school 👍. Also, well done to Hetty whose name was picked out of a hat for completing her '20 Day Reading Challenge'. All of the book prizes were generously donated by Coventry City FC in the Community and our brilliant PTA. Thank you from us all! ⭐📚⭐

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust 13th Feb 2023

On Friday, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust came into the school to help regenerate our wildlife area. We hope to use this area to support learning and well-being. A huge thank you to the parents who came in to help clear the overgrown area - we could not have achieved so much in a day without your support. Some Year 5/6 children also helped and by the end of the day, the area had already started to look like a usable space. More work needs to be done though, and we are hoping to clear the area further, planting Lavender and Herbs in the wooden planters. We will keep you updated on the progress. Thank you once again to our wonderful parent helpers.

Our Year 3,4,5 & 6 pupils were treated to a Christmas Pantomime -Dick Whittington. Pantomime has been a British tradition since the 18th century and is a mixture of a fairy tale, dancing, singing, and jokes that takes places around Christmas time all over the UK.

On Wednesday 4th March, Key stage One took part in a lego workshop during the morning. It was led by Philip and Maria who brought over 10,000 pieces of lego pieces into our hall! We started off by building a house and then made other items so that we could create the city of Coventry. We were really proud of the city that we produced.

Year One had great fun celebrating NSPCC Number day on Friday 7th February. We played dominoes. Tried to get to 100 with our numicon and used the Base 10 to practise our tens and ones. All the children had great fun.
