One Stop Mount Nod - Half-Term Lunches for Children

The fantastic team at the One Stop shop in Mount Nod are providing free school lunches during half-term and have put the following message on Mount Nod Facebook page today:

As big supporters of Marcus Rashford we disagree with the recent House of Commons vote not to extend free school meals over the upcoming school holidays. We have also been inspired by our MP Taiwo Owatemi’s passionate speech regarding, ‘it’s a basic human right for children not to be hungry’.

As a business, we try to remain impartial in the sphere of politics as we are a small community-based business and respect everyone’s views but on this issue, we believe it goes beyond politics. So, we would like to lend our support and do our small bit to help, as many local businesses are doing up and down the country.

For this half-term holiday 26th-30th October, we will provide a lunch per child between 11 am-2 pm each day. We understand that this may be a sensitive issue for some, but nobody needs to feel ashamed. If anyone requires this support, please message us privately. Lunches can be collected in store during the above stated hours. If you’re unable to collect please provide details, as we currently offer a home delivery service in parts of the city and we will do our best to arrange delivery.

Thanks – The Team at One Stop Mount Nod.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the staff at One Stop, for being such an amazing part of our Mount Nod Community.
