Sports Premium
What is Sports Premium?
The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum to provide a primary school sport fund.
This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and ensures money goes directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
The purpose of the funding is that schools will have to spend the sport funding in improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
Funding for schools will be calculated by the number of primary aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11) as at the annual census in January.
How is it spent?
Schools will be held to account for how they spend the sport funding.
This funding will cover a number of areas of the subject such: professional coaching, competitions, equipment and staff professional development.
Sports Premium at Mount Nod School
All children at our school have 2 hours dedicated to PE and Games.
We ensure that the children receive the highest quality of teaching during their PE sessions. We strive to improve children’s ability and skills in sport as well as having a significant impact on the overall fitness and well-being of the children. We aim for all children to develop positive attitudes towards physical activity ensuring all lessons are accessible by providing a range of different activities to challenge every pupil. We believe in challenging ourselves to always strive to be our best and endeavour to instil personal challenge in our children.
